The www.21augusts.lv website now features newspaper editions covering events of August 1991. The press coverage is published as a part of preparations to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of adopting the Constitutional Law on the Statehood of the Republic of Latvia.

On 21 August of this year, the 20^th anniversary of the actual restoration of independence of our country will be celebrated.

 In the first three months since the website www.21augusts.lv was launched, video interviews with the eyewitnesses of the restoration of the de facto independence of Latvia have attracted the greatest number of visitors.

Video interviews with witnesses of the de facto restoration of Latvia’s independence can be viewed on the webpage of the 21 August celebrations – www.21augusts.lv. The videos have been created in preparation for the 20^th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitutional Law on the Statehood of the Republic of Latvia.
